Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Here's a random fact you can use to impress your friends. The oldest college sport is ... rowing. Yes rowing, as in people in boats with oars (or blades, as per the sport's lingo). The first intercollegiate match was held way back in 1852. To understand that, it helps to know that neither football nor basketball had been invented yet.
Boats (1,736 all together)!
Rowers (8,200 all together)!
Tasty treats like chowda (the white kind, of course)!
Corporate giveaways, including free shaves!
Hungry geese!

But really I didn't go because of any of that. I went because this past weekend was absolutely beautiful here in Boston. The temps were in the 70s. In late October. Go figure.

I remember all of it, and Fanieul Square. My daughter competed in crew on the Charles (Smith) and it was always a wonderful event.
